Railcard

15th June: WEATHER: warm, about 25 °C, sunny

16th June: WEATHER: even warmer, close to 30 °C, sunny

(G. is constantly complaining about the warm weather, saying: "Why is it so hot??? We live in England for a reason!! Come on!!")

ENGLISH:
- outward ticket : the ticket you have to travel TO somewhere (while return ticket is your ticket for your way back)

- Bon appetit! : English really don't have an equivalent for "Jó étvágyat." They say Bon appetit! Although we usually learn from books you should say "Enjoy your meal!" it is not used in this sense. Waiters and waitresses says "Enjoy your meal" when the food is served.

As lots of you may know, travelling in England by train is much more comfortable and faster than by bus. Rail stations are not far away from the city centres, trains are very fast, very clean and always on time.

There are several kinds of so called Railcards, which if you buy, you get 1/3 off UK rail fares.
There several types, so almost everybody can fit into one of the categories. I've bought the 16-25 for students railcard. It costs £30 for a year but you need a passport photo of yourself to go on the card, so actually it costs £35.

Well, yes, identity photos aren't any better in England than in Hungary. There are very strict restrictions while taking the photo, for exampla you are not allowed to smile at all!

And, of course, no surprise, my name is misspelled, again. Only the difference is now that the 'F' letters at the beginning of my names are missread for a 'T'. That's a new version for my tricky name.
