LONDON - The Inside - Part 1

On the 22nd July I travelled to London again to start my 'inside' tour. There are places in London which I always wanted to explore from the inside, too, not only form the outside, but with the regular tourist groups you haven't got any chance to do that. So as the opportunity came I started visiting these places.

Rail ticket to London cost £15.30:

In advance I booked a guided tour ticket to visit the Houses of Parliament. Several years ago I was already there, but then I visited a working day at the Parliament, so we sat behind a glass wall listening to the politicians. Now, because it was at the weekend, I could visit each and every part inside, also walking along the well-known green and red benches in the two houses. At the university I have learnt so much about the political system and about the Parliament itself that I wanted to see everything with my own eyes. I did it and it was an amazing experience. The guided tour cost £21 (student concession), had to be ordered online in advance and get the ticket itself on the day of the tour at the ticket office:

Of course, taking photos are nor permitted inside the building, so here ar some from the outside:

A photo with Mr Cromwell:

The Big Ben from another angle:

And the Westminster Hall, which is the oldest part of the building and the only place for photographing:

But, of course, only after a security check:

After the Parliament the 'inside tour' continued and I visit the Royal Albert Hall. I'm sure lots of you know the building, maybe you have already seen concerts from there on TV.

Participating on a real concert is extremely expensive but there are guided tours available, so at least there is an affordable way to get inside and sit in those famous red seats. The guided Grand Tour cost £11.75 (student concession):

At the entrance one of the wall is covered with a big montage with all of the stars who have already played there:

A big favourite:

In the hallway:

And then finally inside! It's just as amazing as you would imagine:

We got to sit right next to the royal box:

We were allowed to visit the royal staircase, too:

And what's more, we visited the royal resting room:

And a look at the Queen's chair when she is there watching a show:

The inside:

And from the top of the building:

And finally a rainy picture of the Albert Memorial:

Financial report: The 'London Inside - tour 1' cost altogether: £50.45, about 17.600 Ft
